If there’s anything we’ve learned from watching years of American Idol, it’s that Hollywood Week is not to be taken lightly. Grueling rehearsals, clashing personalities, and the possibility of your dreams crashing down around you all lead to a pretty stressful environment for the eager contestants.
That said, some of the hopefuls seem more than ready to compete for the semi-finals, including 21-year-old Savion Wright. We first met the guitar-playing student back in Austin auditions, where he opened up about music helping him overcome his ADHD. “Music is my medicine,” he revealed to the cameras.
In a horrible turn of events, Savion lost his older brother just two and half weeks before he headed off for Hollywood. Savion has turned to music more than ever these days, as he pours out his heart to help get him through the tragedy.
When Hollywood Week returns on February 13, Savion will take the stage with yet another original song. After bringing J.Lo to tears with his first Hollywood Week solo, we can only hope he’ll meet their incredibly high expectations.
