Much like the earlier parts of this year of American Idol, Season 13 is full of twists and turns that we’ve never seen before. Replacing Vegas Round is the all-new Rush Week, a highly-emotional, intensive round which promises to narrow down our Top 31 to the remaining 13 who will compete for our votes in the finals.

Not all of the contestants will sing for the country, however, as Ryan Seacrest reveals that only 10 of the ladies will take the stage on February 18. Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr, and Keith Urban have reviewed the tapes of the contestants and will be calling them one-by-one to perform... leaving five of them brokenhearted.

Next up is 18-year-old Emily Piriz, who decides to show a bit of her mature side with Grace Potter’s “Paris (Ooh La La). Mentor and former judge Randy Jackson brings up the fact that Harry doesn’t like to see young girls singing this song, yet despite his worries, Emily decides to continue on with her planned performance.

“One of the things you said early on was that you’d be standing in front of the mirror for hours to bring out your rock chick,” says Keith after her performance. “Part of me gets that, but the other part of me says that if you’re going to be a real artist and really dig in and really express, which is what artistry really is, it’s not about ‘pretending’ to be anything. You’re such a good singer. Please don’t underestimate that.”
