Much like the earlier parts of this year of American Idol, Season 13 is full of twists and turns that we’ve never seen before. Replacing Vegas Round is the all-new Rush Week, a highly-emotional, intensive round which promises to narrow down our Top 31 to the remaining 13 who will compete for our votes in the finals.

Not all of the contestants will sing for the country, however, as Ryan Seacrest reveals that only 10 of the ladies will take the stage on February 18. Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr, and Keith Urban have reviewed the tapes of the contestants and will be calling them one-by-one to perform... leaving five of them brokenhearted.

Next up is 23-year-old Jessica Meuse, who decides to show her country side with Luke Bryan’s “Drink a Beer.” Season 5 contestant Chris Daughtry returns as a mentor for the evening, encouraging Jess to connect with the audience without her guitar. Despite what he says, she takes the stage with her guitar in hand, hoping to wow the judges with her performance.

“I love your voice,” says Harry. “I think you bring something completely different to the table, which is kind of fresh and exciting. On the technical side, you really have to watch your intonation, because you have a tendency to go sharp. As far as my opinion goes, I wanted to feel what you were singing about, but I just didn’t think you settled in to what the song was about.”

Will Jess make it through to the Top 13? The choice is up to you! Vote by calling 1-855-4-IDOL-07 or text 7 to 83676.
