Much like the earlier parts of this year of American Idol, Season 13 is full of twists and turns that we’ve never seen before. Replacing Vegas Round is the all-new Rush Week, a highly-emotional, intensive round which promises to narrow down our Top 31 to the remaining 13 who will compete for our votes in the finals.

Not all of the contestants will sing for the country, however. As we saw on last night’s stress-inducing episode (February 18), only 10 of the 15 ladies got to take the stage, while the others were sent home brokenhearted. Tonight it’s the guys’ turn to start biting their nails as they wait to see who will get called to the stage.

Next up is 22-year-old Dexter Roberts, who decides to stay true to his roots by singing Craig Morgan’s “This Ole Boy.” As usual, Dexter delivers a cool, calm performance without an ounce of nervousness, but the judges wonder what going to distinguish him from every other country artist in the world.

“You are the real deal, legit, fully-fledged country boy from Alabama,” Keith says following the performance. “You’ve got a good voice, you’re easy to watch, you’re fun. But there’s a 1000 guys just like you fronting country bands in honky-tonks all over America right now. And what you’ve got to do is figure out what makes you different from everybody else. That’s what your job’s gonna be.”

Will Dexter make it through to the Top 13? The choice is up to you! Vote by calling 1-855-4-IDOL-06 or text 6 to 83676.
