By this point in the season, almost two months since the premiere way back in January, you think we'd be use to eliminations on American Idol. And yet somehow they never get any easier.
Tonight's first one-hour elimination show proved no different as we whittled the Season 13 Top 13 down to just 12 after more than 70 million votes were cast yesterday evening. We've already talked about who didn't make it on to the next round (read all about that over here). Now time to take a headcount and see who survived to sing another day.
In the order in which host Ryan Seacrest called their names during the episode, we present the first handful of contestants told they made it safely through to the Top 12:

Eventually, the suspense nearly killing us, Kristen O'Connor was sent packing with the judges deciding to pass on using their one save for the season. Good luck to ya and congratulations to the Top 12!
