Keeping with the theme of American Idol Season 13, the Idol producers have thrown yet another curveball our way. This is the last week we’ll stick to the normal Wednesday and Thursday night times for the show.
What’s that mean? Well, don’t worry. Wednesdays will be the same. We’ll have two hours of performances every Wednesday from here until the mid-May finale, which we anticipate will be a Tuesday and Wednesday affair on May 20 and 21.
Thursdays, however. Now that’s where it gets tricky. This week’s show (March 6) will be the typical one hour from 8 to 9 p.m. The very next week, though, Idol’s result episode will start an hour later, at 9 p.m. That’ll be the case for the March 13 and March 20 shows but come March 27 and the Top 9, the episode will be cut down to just 30 minutes.
Why the sudden changes? USA Today says it’s all about TV scheduling with Hell’s Kitchen returning to Fox at 8 p.m. March 13 and, two weeks later, new comedy Surviving Jack premiering at 9:30 p.m.
What do you make of the changes? Upset so much is shifting or think it’s all for the best? Sound off in the comments and be sure to update your TV schedules accordingly.
