Feel like you’re having a bit of déjà vu to last week’s American Idol? Fear not, because we promise you’re not going crazy! Indeed, the Top 8 of Season 13 are taking the Idol stage for the second week in a row after the judges used their one and only save on Sam Woolf.

Despite the oldest contestants in the competition being just 23 years old (man, we feel ancient!), the eight remaining hopefuls will be taking on songs from the 1980s. That’s right, these talented hopefuls have been tasked with singing numbers that were popular before they were even born!

Last to take the stage tonight is Caleb Johnson, who — while consistently wowing with his rock ‘n’ roll aesthetic — has consistently delivered the same style of performance again and again. This time, however, Caleb’s going to switch it up by taking a reverent approach to one of his all-time favorite songs.

His emotional rendition of “Faithfully” is actually what the judges have been waiting for, especially Harsh Harry. “It was exciting watching you walk out,” he says. “I think everybody was anticipating two things: a really strong, powerful, consistent vocal and the fact that we have been wanting to hear you sing something with more subtly. That’s exactly what you did and I’ve been waiting for that since the first day that I met you. I always wanted to know if you could do it and you did it. Nice work.”
