Feel like you’re having a bit of déjà vu to last week’s American Idol? Fear not, because we promise you’re not going crazy! Indeed, the Top 8 of Season 13 are taking the Idol stage for the second week in a row after the judges used their one and only save on Sam Woolf.

Despite the oldest contestants in the competition being just 23 years old (man, we feel ancient!), the eight remaining hopefuls will be taking on songs from the 1980s. That’s right, these talented hopefuls have been tasked with singing numbers that were popular before they were even born!

Next to give it their all is Jessica Meuse, who’s definitely had some ups and downs throughout the entire season. We’ve definitely been digging the rock-chick part of her personality that we’ve seen in previous weeks, so we can’t help but be excited when we hear that she’s taking on “Call Me” by the legendary Blondie. Mentor David Cook praises her technical skills, but he worries that she looks like she’s not having any fun.

“You have a great voice and sounded great on that song,” says Harry, following the performance. “But I’m going to emphasis groove. You need to sing the shuffle and feel that groove. I didn’t feel like you were ripping that pocket up.”

“For me, it’s just release,” adds Keith, agreeing with both Harry and David. “It’s gotten better, but I keep waiting for you to release into it completely.”

Do you think Jessica deserves to make it through to next week? Watch the video below and sound off in the comments!
