Feel like you’re having a bit of déjà vu to last week’s American Idol? Fear not, because we promise you’re not going crazy! Indeed, the Top 8 of Season 13 are taking the Idol stage for the second week in a row after the judges used their one and only save on Sam Woolf.

Despite the oldest contestants in the competition being just 23 years old (man, we feel ancient!), the eight remaining hopefuls will be taking on songs from the 1980s. That’s right, these talented hopefuls have been tasked with singing numbers that were popular before they were even born!

Next to take the stage is Malaya Watson, who continues to impress the judges week after week with her age-defying vocals and unique personality. This time, Malaya decides to take on “Through the Fire” by Chaka Chan, in hopes of proving once again that even though she’s young, she’s got some serious talent.

“There’s never any doubting your vocal ability,” says Keith, following the performance. “The one thing I would say is to just try to lay back into a little bit more. If you had a voice that was limiting, you’d have to worry about it. But you don’t. Just chill out and coast through it.”
