Parting is such sweet sorrow, particularly when we went a whole week without having to say goodbye to anyone on American Idol.

Since the judges saved Florida sunshine Sam Woolf from elimination last Thursday we got a whole seven extra days with the Top 8 of Season 13 and, you know what? It was awesome. True, '80s Night wasn't really the contestants' thing but who can blame them? They weren't even around 30 years ago!

But now our days with the great eight are ended and we have to say adios to one bright-eyed hopeful. Who are we crying over this week? We'll tell you soon enough but before your sniffling turns to full on sobbing, let's take a moment to be grateful that tonight wasn't a double elimination. True, that means cutting two contestants back-to-back is still on the horizon but at least tonight we can take comfort in knowing we'll go down to seven, not a mere six.

Still, we're going to miss tonight's fallen star. Who was it? That be Malaya Watson, whose performance just couldn't measure up compared to the remaining contestants (we've got that list if you need it). Malaya lost out to fellow contestant CJ Harris, who joined her in the bottom two, but luck favored CJ tonight and he'll live to see another Live Show.

Were you surprised by the verdict? Wish the judges still had their save to use? Tell us all your Idol feels in the comments below and remember, the Top 7 perform next week, Wednesday, April 16.
