More good news for American Idol tonight! After hearing Fox has officially renewed the reality TV competition show for a 14th season (yes, you are that old), it sounds like this year’s all-star judges’ panel is onboard too!
People has the latest with a source telling the magazine that Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick, Jr. will all be returning for Season 14 of the show. This would mark J.Lo’s fourth season, Keith’s third, and newbie Harry’s second.
While the show itself has been falling in the ratings, bringing back this trio of celebrities will do a lot to keep Idol’s star shining. Harry in particular has proven to be a top-notch addition to the judging line-up and now that they’ve got their footing, we’re only expecting bigger and better things ahead. One highlight: The auditions will stop by each of the judges’ home cities: New York for Jenny from the Block, New Orleans for HCJ, and Nashville for Keith (well, by way of Australia).
Fox hasn’t commented on the report. We’re also still waiting to hear if host Ryan Seacrest will be returning too. He’s been with the show since its beginning back in 2002 (though he had a counterpart named Brian Dunkleman, if you’ll recall). Come on, Ryan and Fox! Let’s keep this quartet together!
