Fresh off the news that judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick, Jr. will all be returning next year to American Idol, we’re learning that everyone’s favorite television host will also be coming back to the show. Sources confirm to E! News that Ryan Seacrest has just signed a new two-year deal to host the singing competition for FOX.

It’s been a wealth of good news this week for Idol, as the show’s officially been renewed for its 14th season. We have to admit, we were a bit surprised by the announcement, considering the show’s seen a steady decline in ratings over the last few years. Even FOX president Chase Carey said the show is “winding down” — though we have to question that comment given the new two-year commitment from Ryan.

All that said, we can expect to see the same faces, but with a slightly different format. According to recent spoilers from The Idol Pad, producers hope to keep interest high by bringing the show back in a lesser capacity.

“The experts believe that the key to stabilization is decreasing the time commitment expected of viewers," TIP explains. This scaled back plan will reportedly involve the show being shortened by a month and only happening one night a week, which will certainly give Ryan more time to focus on his plethora of other duties like radio host, red carpet correspondent, and music festival investor.

Of course, the network has yet to confirm Ryan’s new deal. (They like to keep us on our toes.) That said, it doesn’t sound like we’ll be saying goodbye to that perfect hair anytime soon.
