Responding to today’s rumor that he is being courted by Fox to become one of American Idol’s judges for Season 12, Adam Lambert has said that he’d jump at the opportunity but only if the offer actually comes his way. Rolling Stone reports that Adam appeared on U.K. radio station Capital FM this morning and clarified that he hasn’t been asked to join the Idol judging line-up quite yet.

“I'm just hearing about this today as well, and so, what a beautiful rumor,” he said. “Listen, if – and I say 'if' with a capital I-F – if they were to approach me and if they were to say, 'We want you to be a judge on the show,' I would love that. I would jump at the chance.”

He also admitted that he has Idol to thank for his career and that “it would be really exciting to be sitting at a judging panel and trying to help people reach their dreams.”

The last time Adam was rumored to take over an Idol judging spot, he denied that he was replacing former judge Simon Cowell. In 2010, he said, "I would be honored to be asked, but I think at this point I'm just focusing on my career as a recording artist."

Sounds like Adam’s ready and willing this time around. Now, we’ll just have to wait and see whether Fox steps in and makes him an offer!
