Anyone up for high tea and crumpets? Or maybe peace and free love is more your thing? This week, the Top 5 on American Idol will be performing one song by a British pop artist and one song from the 60s. We’ve picked out our top choice from across the pond for each contestant to sing. What do you think?

Hollie Cavanagh
“Heroes” by David Bowie
Okay, you might call us crazy for suggesting this song, but hear us out. Hollie’s time left on the show is probably pretty limited, so it’s time to go big or go home. We think this Bowie anthem would be an awesome risk for her.

Joshua Ledet
“Angels” by Robbie Williams
It’s a gorgeous song, we love Robbie, and we think Joshua could put a terrific spin on it. David Archuleta did a really nice version back in Season 7, but we’re pretty sure Joshua could top it.

Skylar Laine
“Valerie” by The Zutons
Well, technically, we’d like for her to do a version like Amy Winehouse’s cover. Skylar’s the only girl on Idol with the requisite fierceness to pull it off. Santana rocked it on Glee last season, remember?

Phillip Phillips
“Something” by The Beatles
So far, Phillip’s most standout performance has probably been his sexy take on Usher’s “U Got It Bad.” While this song is certainly sweeter, we think it could have the same effect. Plus, it’s The Beatles! Someone has to do it.

Jessica Sanchez
“Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” by Elton John
It’s practically an Idol standard, which wouldn’t normally encourage, but it’s pretty much tailor-made for Jessica’s strengths. Plus, it carries the always important message of “vote for me,” which at this stage it never hurts to remind people about.
