The American Idol finale is so close we can practically touch it!

So what will the Top 5 be singing on Wednesday? According to Fox, viewers can expect a dual theme of British pop and songs from the 1960s.

After the mixed results from last week's Queen theme, perhaps this is a chance for the Top 5 to prove that they can sing like the best of the Brits. It’s also a pretty convenient tie-in with Coldplay’s planned performance on Thursday’s results show. And after Elise's Jimi Hendrix pick last week, we're ready to hear more songs from this psychedelic era.

We’re glad producers narrowed the British theme to focus on pop. Could you imagine a show trying to distill American Music as theme? On the bright side, a wide palette of songs definitely makes for a more interesting and surprising show. Adding to it the secondary theme of the '60s, and you have a large swath of musical syles to choose from.

Among the remaining contestant, the front runners remain pretty unchanged. Despite some spotty response from the judges last week, Phillip Phillips remained safe from elimination, as did Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet. Can Skylar Laine and Hollie Cavanagh stay out of the bottom this week? Which British tunes and songs from the '60s do you want to hear the contestants sing?
