The American Idol finales are usually known to be quite an event, with live performances, duets, and even the occasional comedy skit. This year’s finale is already shaping up to be something special, as Jennifer Lopez has been confirmed to perform. If the rumors from The Hollywood Reporter are true, Idol alums Adam Lambert and Jennifer Hudson could be on tap as well.

It would be surely be interesting to see J-Hud take the Idol stage, especially considering her remarks earlier in the season that the show should go out on top.

There hasn’t been any confirmation on whether Lazaro Arbos will get his duet with Cher, as he commented on during his exit interview. We can be fairly sure he’ll forget a lyric or two during the group numbers, though. D’oh!

The duets are probably the best part of the night, and it will be amazing to see which artists get paired with Kree Harrison, Angie Miller, and Candice Glover.

Mark your calendars for the two-night event, which will take place on May 15 and 16 on FOX as a live broadcast from L.A.’s Nokia Theatre.

News of more live performances will surely trickle in over these next few days, so make sure to check back to get the scoop on the American Idol 2013 finale.
