Former American Idol 2013 contestant Nick Boddington outraged Lazaro Arbos fans on Twitter when he posted a snarky tweet directed at the Cuban-born singer. Now ‘Lazis’, as Lazaro’s fans call themselves, are directing a flood of nasty messages at Nick over his comments.

The drama started after Nick Boddington posted a note on Twitter thanking Michael Slezak for “keeping it real & for revealing Lazaro’s true colors in his exit interview” with tvline.com. “So many excuses, so little respect,” he concluded.

In the interview, Lazaro Arbos gave some rather inflammatory commentary about the American Idol judges, the producers, and the Top 5 ladies in the competition. He also pretty much accused the producers of manipulating the competition to make sure a female finalist would win because there’s “no way five guys could have left in a row.”

This wasn’t the only post-elimination interview featuring Lazaro taking considerable time to complain about all the ways in which American Idol 2013 failed to give him the chance he deserved to shine. So when Nick Boddington called out Lazaro on Twitter for putting the blame for his failures on everyone but himself, it didn’t come as a shock to anyone except the Lazis.

When Lazaro’s fans came after Nick for his post, he took to Twitter again, posting, “Woah. Lazis are up in arms. Nothing I said about your boy Laz was hateful. Just saying... don’t bite the hand(s) that fed you.” He followed up with another tweet saying, “No more of this hootin’ and hollerin’! Let’s enjoy this awesome weekend! #nothinbutlove”.
