Inevitably during the American Idol Hollywood Week group performances, there’s at least one bunch with a member that hinders them.
In the case of Kez Ban’s group, aptly named The Misfits, that’s an enormous understatement. Hoarsely exclaiming she would “fight to the death” to get “California Dreamin’” as their song choice, fellow group members Janelle Arthur,Angela Miller, and Breanna Steer tread lightly with the seemingly unpredictable Kez.
Despite Kez’s uber crazy antics, which included going in search of food in lieu of practicing, The Misfits wowed the judges. Nicki Minaj even called them “perfection.” But two stars stood out above the other girls in the competition so much, we’re calling the finale already. That’s right -- our very early American Idol prediction for who will be in the final two are...drumroll, please...country sweetheart Janelle Arthur and the one we’ve called to win it all, Angela Miller.
Janelle’s heavy twang and unique country sound seemed to stun the judges. And Nicki, who has emerged as unlikely fan of the genre, is enamored of her.
Angela commands the stage with her confident presence despite having hearing loss in both ears, and her smoky sound and perfect tone continuously impress the judges. In fact, last night, we were left with a preview of tonight’s show, in which we see the judges give Angela a standing ovation for her solo performance at the piano.
Could it be true -- will this be the end of the WGWG (white guy with guitar) curse? Who would you choose to win in an Angela/Janelle finale?
