The American Idol 2013 Top 6 finalists get two chances to knock it out of the park on tonight’s American Idol performances show. And the two themes couldn’t be more different, so we hope to see a lot of versatility among the performers.

The first is “Songs I Wish I Had Written” while the second is rumored to be “Songs From the Burt Bacharach/Hal David” songbook. Obviously, the Bacharach theme is a bit dated, but so many of these Top Six have old souls. We imagine they’ll do amazingly well with this one. And the second theme is so broad, we’ll hopefully hear more current tunes than we have up until now.

In case you missed the song choice spoilers, this is what the Top Six are rumored to be singing:

Lazaro Arbos: “Close To You” — Bacharach/David originally sung by The Carpenters and “Angels” by Robbie Williams — A Song I Wish I Had Written.

Kree Harrison: TBD

Janelle Arthur: “I’ll Never Fall In Love Again” by Burt Bacharach and “The Dance” by Garth Brooks.

Candice Glover: According to MJ Santilli of MJs Big Blog, Candice tweeted a song hint yesterday that read, “I have covered this artist twice on my YouTube channel, however the song I’m singing is not originally theirs. The song is originally by a Band of the early 80s, but was done by this current artist.”

MJ says that the speculation for her “Song I’d Wish I’d Written” is that it will be The Cure’s “Love Song” as performed by Adele.

The other song for Candice is said to be “Don’t Make Me Over” by Burt Bacharach/Dionne Warwick.

Amber Holcomb: “I Say A Little Prayer” by Burt Bacharach/Dionne Warwick and “Love On Top” by Beyonce

Angie Miller: “Anyone Who Had A Heart” by Burt Bacharach/Dionne Warwick and “Love Came Down” by Kari Jobe

American Idol mentor and music producer Jimmy Iovine has said that Kree has an uncanny knack for choosing songs. Ironically, she’s the only one who is a big mystery this week, but we’re confident she’ll be the old pro we’ve come to love. The others, however, have had some trouble with song choice...until now. We couldn’t be more impressed with the choices this week!

We think Candice will kill it singing Adele and Janelle will have a tender moment with her Garth Brooks song. But if we had to choose the winner based on song choices, we’d have to go with Angie. Both those songs are going to make everyone remember why she was the initial frontrunner for season 12.
