What’s in store for our American Idol recap of the Top 9 performances show tonight? While we haven’t come across any American Idol spoilers for the song choices yet, we’re in for some intriguing picks considering the theme—"The music of Paul McCartney and John Lennon”. These hopefuls know that, due to the iconic nature and deep-seated love many have for these musicians, their song choices need to be spot on.
We’ve made our predictions as to what we think they will sing. The American Idol 2013 Top 9 are talented with ballads, so we hope they stick to songs in their wheelhouse. Candice Glover singing “Let It Be” would be amazing, as would Angie Miller returning to the piano to perform “Imagine”. Please, oh please, oh please, let us be right about those!
The guys are really up against it this week, as they’re already down one guy since the American Idol Season 12 finals began (Curtis Finch, Jr.). Many have predicted that the guys will go home one by one from this point forward, and Jimmy Iovine implied as much last week. Will they rise to the challenge or fold as many have predicted? We still have faith in Burnell Taylor, as he’s been oh-so-consistent. However, we think Devin Velez, Lazaro Arbos, and Paul Jolley could round out our bottom three this week.
We’re also set to find out if the 11th Idol to go on the American Idols LIVE! tour this summer will be the interminably quirky Charlie Askew or the endlessly beautiful Aubrey Cleland. Who do you think will take the spot?
