American Idol 2013 Top 4 finalist Angie Miller is making a brave choice this week with one of her song picks by revisiting a favorite she’s already performed this season. In an exclusive interview with Wetpaint during rehearsals this week, Angie gave us spoilers on what she’ll be singing tonight and why she is making the bold move to repeat a previous performance so close to the Season 12 finale.
It’s getting smaller and smaller.
It is. It’s weird. It’s weird it’s only four. I’m like, where is everybody?
You guys have Sunday dinners and that table just gets smaller?
Yeah, it used to be a long table of ten. And now it’s like this small, small, table and there’s only four of us.
But are the stories getting more intense now?
Yeah, our inside jokes and stuff like that, like our own stories, is that what you’re talking about?
Yes. We’re just getting so much closer and going through more stuff, and it’s just, we love it.
What are you singing tomorrow?
Well, for my pick, I’m doing, “Who You Are” by Jesse J. Love Jesse J.
I actually did this song the first week in Hollywood, the a capella round, and I always wanted to do it again, on a live show. So, I’m doing it.
Why now, and why do it again? Because people are always like, “Aw, but she already sang this. We know what this sounds like.”
Well, first of all, it was the a capella round. It never really showed. It showed a little small clip of it, but, you know, whatever. But I don’t know, but yeah, I hope that people won’t be like, “Oh, another Jessie J. song.” Because I did a different Jessie J. song for Top 40. So, like, I don’t know. I hope that people won’t be like too much Jessie J. I hope they just appreciate how amazing the song is.
And it also really fits you, I mean. You got really far on Jessie J.
Yeah, yeah. She’s an artist that I look up to, and musically I would love to, she’s a big inspiration musically, so definitely don’t mind. I would do all of her songs if I could.
[Our spoilers from The Idol Pad tell us Angie's second song choice this evening — for the theme "one hit wonders" — will be "Cry Me A River" by Julie London.]
