We haven’t even heard the American Idol 2013 Top 6 performances yet, but the song themes for next week’s show have already been leaked! Read on for our American Idol spoilers on what the Top 5 will be singing in the next round!
With only a handful of American Idol finalists left in the competition, each of them are now singing twice every week, which this season means two song themes on performances night.
So far this season the song themes have been kind of... boring. As usual, American Idol producers have forced us to listen to a lot of old, rehashed “classics” we’ve heard over and over repeated on the show in past seasons.
Thankfully, next week’s American Idol Top 5 song themes both give a wide field of choices for the finalists to pick from.
The first theme for the Top 5 performances will be “Songs From the Year You Were Born” — which, for these contestants, is pretty much late 80s to early 90s music, according to mjsbigblog.
Amber Holcomb – 1994
Angela Miller – 1994
Candice Glover – 1989
Janelle Arthur – 1989
Kree Harrison – 1990
As for the second song theme next week, this one could include both old and new standards. Some singers will probably go for more classic “Divas” songs from Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion or others. A few, we hope, will go for more recent “Divas” like Lady Gaga, Adele, Rihanna or others.
We can’t wait to see what songs the finalists will choose to sing! What do you think they should pick for their song choices for these themes?
