‘Tis the season for American Idol contestants we’ve already seen before. Nick Boddington is one of those, and he's hoping this time around he'll actually make it all the way to the end.
We recently revealed the Top 20 for Season 12, and don’t be surprised if some of these names ring a bell. One of them is Nick Boddington, who made it to Hollywood Week last year after his Portland audition earned him that prized golden ticket.
Nick is a Memphis native but, according to his Facebook page, he has lived in New York City since 2005, where he has been a “background vocalist and session musician for emerging artists.”
In his Americanidol.com interview from Season 11, the self-described singer-songwriter said he draws influences from R&B, country, and ‘90s pop. He also started the group The Wonderland Robbers with his girlfriend, Jade. Boddington says that, until he auditioned for Idol, he hadn’t quite figured out who he was as an artist but has since found his musical sweetspot.
“I think I have the ability to make music that moves people,” he said.
The Season 12 hopeful has another tie to Idol — he once covered Mariah Carey’s “Emotions,” a courageous move, to be sure. Watch his performances from American Idol 2013 below and let us know what you think about his chances!
