They’re baaaaaack! Starting with tonight’s American Idol results show, the group numbers will commence despite the public backlash against them. We might as well embrace it!

So is the American Idol Season 12 Top 10 be singing for the group number? It’s a single called “Shine Your Way” from the motion picture soundtrack for DreamWorks Animation’s 3D film, The Croods (opening nationwide March 22). DreamWorks calls the film a “comedy adventure for the entire family.” You’ll get to see footage from the film tonight, as scenes will be shown on screen behind the finalists as they perform.

The track, originally performed by artist Yuna, was written by two-time Academy Award®-nominated composer Alan Silvestri, Glen Ballard, and the film’s directors Chris Sanders and Kirk DeMicco.

It will be interesting to see the accompanying choreography, as some of these American Idol Top 10 singers haven’t shown us any of their moves yet. Let’s just hope the whole thing isn’t as painful as some of the group performances of seasons past!
