In our opinion, Burnell Taylor  is the strongest male singer still left in the competition on American Idol 2013.  Lazaro Arbos may have the fan vote for his adorable personality and moving backstory. Devin Velez may have the bilingual backing of a strong cultural support group. But Burnell Taylor has a smidge of both of those things as well AND he has a spectacular voice we think is heads above the other two guys still left in the competition.

All the judges gave Burnell high praise yet again last week for Burnell’s rendition of the Beatles’ anthem “Let It Be.” It was definitely one of the strongest performances of the night and Randy Jackson called him out for making the song his own — which isn’t easy to do with such a well-known and beloved tune without messing it up badly. Once again, Burnell proved he is really the guy to beat... even if it still looks very likely a girl will be winning this year.

Even the best singers can find themselves in trouble, however, after one bad performance. Did Burnell manage to shine with tonight's rendition of "My Cherie Amour" and secure a spot in next week’s show? Watch his Season 12 Top 10 performance and let us know if you think he made the Top 7!
