American Idol Season 11 has already featured a number of breakout favorites, from Phillip Phillips in Savannah to Britnee Kellogg in Portland. Now, as we gear up for the grueling incubator of Hollywood and the following Las Vegas round, Wetpaint Entertainment joined a media call with Idol’s producer, Nigel Lythgoe, and asked him about what we can expect going forward.
Namely, does Nigel have a favorite contestant? “I don’t have a favorite…” Nigel confessed, before abruptly backtracking, adding, “Actually, one of my favorites was cut in Las Vegas.” Who could it be? For the list of contestants who make it on to the Las Vegas round, click here. One of them is Nigel’s favorite — and, sadly, many of them go home as the judges hone the list down to the final 24.
