American Idol fans will be happy to know that FOX led the networks in ratings for Wednesday night’s show in which the Top 10 guys performed. But don’t go getting too comfy, as it was a pretty lackluster night overall. Season 12 of Idol is still having its worst audience numbers — 13.3 million viewers on on Wednesday, 12.7 million Thursday — since the series hit Fox's regular schedule over a decade ago, according to the Washington Times.

As The Hollywood Reporter points out, it was a relatively uneventful Wednesday night, as CBS, which has been FOX’s biggest competition this season, aired mostly repeats.

The two-hour episode was up from Tuesday’s ratings and off two-tenths of a point from the previous Wednesday.

Here is how the ratings numbers broke down for Wednesday night in the adults 18-49 group, which is what all the networks are targeting:

FOX: 3.7 rating and 12.7 million viewers
CBS: 1.9 rating and 7.9 million viewers
ABC: 1.5 rating and 4.8 million viewers
NBC: 1.1 rating and 3.8 million viewers
CW: .4 rating and 1.4 million viewers

It’s an exciting night tonight for American Idol 2013. At the conclusion of the 90-minute show (airing from 8 PM-9:30 PM CT), the Top 10 hopefuls for season 12 will be named! We’ll see if the dramatic events can help boost the Idol ratings. Thursdays are always tough, however, as Idol goes up against CBS’ smash hit, The Big Bang Theory

What have you thought about season 12 of American Idol so far?
