Who was eliminated on American Idol tonight? We know who we wanted to go home on the 2013 American Idol results show this week, but the voters are going to do what they are going to do. Whether we like it or not. Will we end up with the first all girls American Idol Top 5 finalists ever in our American Idol recap tonight? We certainly hope so!

As we predicted, some of the American Idol 2013 Top 6 singers reached maximum star power this week with “Songs I Wish I’d Written” and “Songs From the Burt Bacharach/Hal David Songbook”.

While Angie Miller’s Burt Bacharach song fell a bit flat, the Kari Jobi song performed at the piano earned rave reviews from the American Idol judges. And, as per usual, the judges fell all over themselves in adoration of Amber Holcomb. Nicki Minaj even told Beyonce to “watch out” after Amber killed her rendition of “Love On Top”. But there’s no denying the evening belonged to Candice Glover.

Not only did Candice stun the judges with her version of “Don’t Make Me Over,” but her second performance, “Lovesong” by the Cure (as performed by Adele), put her in the annals of American Idol history. In the past, we’ve had Fantasia’s unforgettable rendition of “Summertime,” Kelly Clarkson’s inspiring coronation performance of “A Moment Like This,” and this year’s amazing original, “You Set Me Free,” by Angie Miller. But last night’s performance by Candice may have been the best ever, at least according to American Idol judges veteran Randy Jackson.

Randy called it “one of the greatest performances in the 12 years of American Idol.” Keith Urban bowed down to her, literally and figuratively. And who could forget the glitter bomb bestowed on Candice by Mariah Carey? She’ll be getting that out of her hair for years to come. What’s really interesting is that, as of last week, none of these judges had Candice in their Top Three, yet last night’s performance put her on their radar as a possible winner for all of them (and us).

The season, while filled with talent, has pretty much gone down as most expected, with the five guys in the Top Ten being systematically picked off, week after week. We think the same will happen tonight, as Lazaro Arbos has (hopefully!) gone as far as he can. Alas, it looks like the Judges’ Save will go unused this season, or will it?

Well, all is now said and done and we were correct in our prediction... Lazaro Arbos was voted off American Idol tonight and the judges did not save him. Read our full recap of the night here.
