American Idol Season 2 Winner Ruben Studdard Files for Divorce

American Idol alum Ruben Studdard and his wife, 34-year-old Surata Zuri McCants, have decided to call it quits. The couple is reportedly filing for divorce.
They met in 2006 while Ruben was signing CDs on a press junket (he even followed her into another aisle to ask for her digits!). They later married in 2008 in his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama.
The 33-year-old singer signed divorce documents citing “irreconcilable differences.” And a rep from Ruben’s camp says, “Ruben and Zuri have gone their separate ways.”
Poor Velvet Teddy Bear.
