It’s Top Nine week on American Idol, and we could be in for some high drama. The Wednesday, March 20 (8 p.m.-10 p.m. ET), performance show will have these singers taking on songs of John Lennon and Paul McCartney for America’s votes. Also on Wednesday, we will find out if the super quirky Charlie Askew or the downright stunning Aubrey Cleland will be the 11th Idol to on the American Idols LIVE! tour this summer.

On Thursday night, March 21 (8 p.m.-9 p.m. ET), we will find out which of the Top Nine finalists will be sent home. And last year’s runner-up, Jessica Sanchez, will grace the Idol stage once again with pop sensation Ne-Yo. They’ll be performing “Give Me Everything (Tonight),” the lead single off Jessica’s soon-to-drop debut album.

In the first elimination night of the finals last Thursday, season 12 went as most have predicted, with a guy (Curtis Finch, Jr.) ending his Idol journey. Devin Velez joined him in the bottom two. Will the guys continue to be picked off, one by one, or will be there be a surprise in store for us this week? Realistically, the American Idol 2013 judges wouldn’t use the “judges save” on a guy when female powerhouses Kree Harrison, Candice Glover, and Angie Miller are still at risk of a voting snafu. We all likely remember the very premature departure and subsequent uprising with Chris Daughtry during season five.

People expect a lot when singers perform songs from the Lennon/McCartney songbook, so these Top Nine better have thought long and hard before making their picks. It will be intriguing to find out what each of them chose.

Who do you think will shine with this American Idol song theme? Who do you think will struggle?
