Whether it’s been planned or spontaneous, the folks behind the scenes at American Idol 2013 have certainly had a lot of people sit at the American Idol judges table this season. So far, we’ve come back from commercial to see former judge Paula Abdul sitting there as well as Drake and then, this past week, Harry Connick, Jr. was led down for a seat by the hand of current judge Keith Urban.
Is this like “The Three Little Bears,” and are they trying to find the one that seems “just right”? Jennifer Lopez is set to perform on the season finale, so it will be interesting to see if she takes a seat there. As Mariah Carey likes to say, “hashtag POW,” but we don’t think that’s quite what she means.
It would certainly be interesting to see someone like Drake at the table, someone who’s on the upside of his career as opposed to the downside. Sorry, but it’s true! He has that R&B and Pop feel to him, much like Usher, who has been a stellar addition to the crew over at The Voice.
He seemed a bit quiet to us but, if he could see to it to give straightforward critiques while earnestly guiding these singers in their careers, we could see it. And he’s not such a huge star that all the attention will be on him as opposed to the singers.
What do you think? Would Drake make a good judge on American Idol season 13?
