Has anyone else noticed that the folks over at American Idol have been quietly and not-so-quietly giving other celebs the chance to sit at the judges table this year?

It’s almost as if they’re trying people on for size... We all know a big shakeup is coming for American Idol 2014, especially amidst the
rumors that powers that be tried to replace Mariah Carey with Jennifer Lopez mid-season.

Last night, Keith Urban even led Harry Connick, Jr., over to the table by hand to allow him to speak his peace with Randy Jackson. And ya know what? He fit pretty well up there. Celebuzz reports that when the cameras weren't looking, it seemed Harry had a very "hard time" prying himself out of the American Idol judges chair.

After he mentored in Season 9, there was a lot of buzz that he may step up to the Idol plate at some point, but it seemed to be nothing more than a rumor at that point.

Now we’re not so sure, as everyone knows there are going to be empty spots at that table in 2014. Harry would be the perfect choice. He’s not only musically talented but he’s outspoken and hella funny, no? It’s like having Ellen DeGeneres back but with something valid to say!

Harry held his own in his dispute with Randy, but also kept things on a humorous level. And don’t even get us started on the eye candy factor, folks, as that guy is simply dreamy.

What do you think? Would you like to see Harry Connick, Jr., on the American Idol judges panel in 2014? Find out what he has to say about the idea!
