American Idol 2013 continues this week with more from Hollywood as the girls battle it out in front of the judges for a spot in the Top 40. Whatever they did in the auditions is now in the past, and the ladies will have to impress the American Idol judges all over again if they hope to make it to Vegas Week.

Except this time, the judges won’t be quite so easily impressed.

Last week on American Idol 2013, quite a few early favorites among the guys failed to deliver in their Hollywood Week and were sent home. Some were painfully cut during their first performance in round one, while others made it almost all the way to the end before being told to pack their bags in round two.

Now it’s time for the women to face the music. Hollywood Week is notoriously one of the most stressful and drama-filled parts of the whole American Idol competition. How will the ladies stack up? Join us here at Wetpaint on Wednesday and Thursday for our live American Idol recaps complete with performance videos and find out! Meanwhile, here’s the official American Idol synopsis for the ladies’ Hollywood Week shows.

Well the guys had their chance and now it's the girls' turn to lay it all out for our judges in Hollywood! The drama is high and the stakes are even higher! Which lucky contestants will battle through sleepless nights, forgotten lyrics and tears to earn a spot in the Top 40?

The rules are the same: The best female talent from all over the country will compete in group and solo performances, with our judges having the final say as to who moves on in the competition. Is this the "end of the line" for your favorite contestant, or is she going to advance?

The girls get their chance to win over the judges beginning Wednesday, Feb. 13 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). At the end of the girls’ second and final “Hollywood Round,” on Thursday, Feb. 14 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), only the Top 40 semifinalists – 20 guys and 20 girls – will remain.
