American Idol winner Phillip Phillips already has an album dominating on the charts, but many have been asking when American Idol season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez’s debut effort will drop. Billboard caught up with the young talent at a recent American Idol event, where she told them fans could expect it this spring, with the first single hitting airwaves right now.

“I’m so ready for everyone to hear it! It’s going to be dancey and something I could definitely see being remixed and in the clubs.”

Those who have loved Jessica for her ballads will be happy to know they’re not excluded by any means, but they’ll have a more “R&B/Pop/Urban kind of feel.”

Jessica Sanchez revealed she worked with longtime idol Ne-Yo on the album, gushing, “I love him so much and I can’t believe that I got the opportunity to work with him. It’s crazy!” Jessica and Ne-Yo performed the first single off her new album on the Top 8 results show of American Idol 2013.

Who’s next on her collaboration list? If it were up to her, she said she’d choose Eminem.

Now let’s get down to the business of Glee, as the American Idol alum is taking her upcoming role on the hit Fox show very seriously. In fact, she’s somehow managed to squeeze acting lessons into her jam-packed schedule.

“I’m taking acting classes right now to prepare for it. I can’t wait to get on the show and see how I do and see how everybody reacts to it.” Jessica is slated to appear on the last two episodes of Glee this season.
