American Idol Season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina didn’t come away with the ultimate prize last year, but she has major bragging rights: The 17-year-old country cutie’s vocals will be heard on Aerosmith’s soon-to-be released album.

“Yesterday: returned to idol & then went to the studio to record background vocals for the new Aerosmith record,” she tweeted enthusiastically. “#ISTHISREAL? Thank u Steven!”

Aerosmith front man and Idol judge Steven Tyler has been a Lauren lover from the beginning, but it’s still an unexpected and enormous honor. We’re super excited to hear what Lauren sounds like with the legendary band — it’ll be a killer combination!
