Will Nicki Minaj's film debut be better than fellow American Idol judge Mariah Carey's first film, Glitter? We seriously hope so.

Nicki has just been added to the cast of the upcoming Cameron Diaz comedy The Other Woman, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In the film, Cameron's character realizes that the man she's dating is married, so she teams up with his wife to get revenge on the nogoodnik.

Nicki will play Cameron's mouthy assistant at a law firm. "How can Nicki ever be believable in playing a character who's 'mouthy'?" asked no one ever.

We also know that Nicki's character will currently be married for the third time. Sounds kinda perfect for her, no?

The film is set to begin shooting in either late spring on early summer in NYC. Also starring in the film are Leslie Mann, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Kate Upton.

This will be Nicki's live-action film debut, but it won't actually be her first movie. She voiced a character named Steffie in the animated hit, Ice Age: Continental Drift.

Given Nicki's entertaining personality on American Idol, we have no doubt that she'll be a hoot in a film as well.

As for Mariah, her effort in Glitter might not have exactly won her any Oscars, but she redeemed herself in a big way with her powerful role in 2009's Precious.

So are you looking forward to seeing Nicki's film? Or do you think she should stick to rapping and judging?
