American Idol contestant Scotty McCreery has both wowed judges and taken his fair share of flack for his all-country, all-the-time musical approach. As anyone who has followed the show knows, his go-to move is a certain Josh Turner song, “Your Man.” In fact, Scotty has been so heavily associated with the song, his name has become somewhat synonymous with the its distinctive opening lyrics, “Baby lock them doors…”

But the Idol singer can comfort himself by knowing that the original “Baby lock them doors” singer approves. Scotty told MTV News that Josh Turner himself contacted the teen to lend his support. "I actually met [Josh Turner] the day I auditioned for the show at a meet-and-greet. [And] he sent me a message today, and he just told me he was rooting for me and that he was proud of me. So that meant a lot to me."
