Ben Affleck’s sure changed his tune on ex-fiancé Jennifer Lopez.

Just last month, he majorly dissed the former American Idol judge when he implied that 2003 the year they were engaged and co-starred together in the box office blunder Gigli was the “annus horribilis” (horrible year) of his life.

But Ben was much kinder about his former flame when speaking to The Hollywood Reporter recently, saying “We don't have the kind of relationship where she relies on me for advice, but we do have the kind of relationship where there'll be an e-mail saying, ‘Oh, your movie looks great.'”

Ben added, “I remember when she got American Idol. I said: 'This was really smart. Good luck.' I touch base. I respect her. I like her. She's put up with some stuff that was unfair in her life, and I'm really pleased to see her successful.”

Successful could be an understatement, as J.Lo was declared the most powerful celebrity in the world earlier this year. Maybe Ben got a new e-mail from Jennifer reminding him of that fact?
