Best and Worst Fashion from American Idol: The Grand Finale
With Scotty McCreery’s coronation as Idol champ last week, we’re all out of luck in terms of getting our American Idol fix for awhile (unless you managed to score tickets to the tour, in which case we are jealous). But at least we can extensively recap the grand finale. Next up? The fashion.
Scotty and Lauren pulled out all the sartorial stops for their final turns onstage, and we totally applaud the leather-wearing, sequin-covered, ruffled-adorned effort. Some of their looks? Right on the money, ideal for a true Idol, and perfect for the fabulous send-off. A couple outfits? They might have slipped up a tad. Now, it wouldn’t be an AI fashion wrap if we didn’t scrutinize it all and just gave them a pass, so let’s recap the best and worst fashion moments from Scotty and Lauren... for the last time. (Cue the tears.)
BEST: Lauren Stays Chic in Black
Lauren looked every bit a style icon standing next to certified fashionista Carrie Underwood. We loved the subtle shimmer and dark vibe of the look. Perfection.
BEST: Scotty's Studly Suit
Scotty sure cleans up well! The gray suit was a fresh look for the 17-year-old winner, and we couldn’t have imagined a better get-up for taking this season’s title.
WORST: Lauren's Frothy Yellow Dress
We’re good with this look from the knee up: cute neckline, chic cinched-waist... but what’s with the Little Bo Beep hem? We would have loved to just see the gown extended to a floor-length dress. This frock was so, so close to awesome...
WORST: Scotty's Bright Whites
Scotty’s all-white outfit is so blinding, we almost miss Lauren’s sparkling sequins.
