There is apparently no show rivalry at all between The Voice coach Blake Shelton and the original American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson! Rumors have been flying around for a while that Blake might turn up at Kelly’s upcoming wedding to fiance Brandon Blackstock. Now it look’s like it’s official!
Last night after the American Country Music Awards, Kelly revealed The Voice coach Blake Shelton will not only sing at her wedding, he’ll be officiating! The American Idol Season 1 winner spilled the news to Entertainment Tonight’s Nancy O’Dell backstage at the ACM Awards on Sunday. Brandon, Kelly’s future husband, is actually Blake’s manager.
Another fun bit of trivia about Brandon? He’s actually the stepson of country music legend Reba McEntire. Brandon’s dad is Narvel Blackstock, who is married to Reba and also one of Clarkson’s managers. Now that’s keeping it in the country family!
Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock got engaged back in December. Blake says he played a part in making sure Brandon got up the guts to propose. "I told Brandon, man, you need to grow up and figure out that you need to marry this girl," Blake tol ET after the engagement was announced. "I will do the music at the wedding or whatever, I'll be that guy. I will play for four hours if I have to, cause you need to get your head out of your ass."
