While American Idol hopefuls from other seasons have been competitive, to say the least, it seems that these season 12 folks have all drunk a bunch of love juice for one another. Every person to leave the show thus far has gushed about the fellow contestants and the experience, and Burnell Taylor is no exception.

"I took a lot from this experience. I'm so thankful for this experience, this platform, because my life will never be the same,” the Louisiana native gushed in a press conference call after his elimination.

While MTV called the 19-year-old “cocky” during his run on the show, they were impressed by his humble exit. It seems like he has an incredibly positive outlook, and is looking forward to the next step.

"I'm just so excited because I feel like my job here is done, I did what I was supposed to do, I inspired people hopefully, and you know, I'm ready to take on life after this," Burnell said.

It may be because he was prepared, as the newly svelte singer said he had a premonition. In fact he said he had a feeling the whole week. Either way, however, he has nothing but love and admiration for those who remain.

“Anybody that's left ... I'm happy for them, because I know where we started from. I mean, we started in July and June, it's about to be July and June again. That's a long ride, so I'm proud of everybody, and whoever wins, I'm just happy that I'm going to know the winner."

As for that admittedly cringe-worthy rock performance this week, Burnell even says he took that in stride. In fact, he said he’s not ashamed of the performance and has no regrets.

"If anybody would have told me at the beginning of this ride that I was going to be performing a rock song in front of a live audience, I would have told them they were crazy," he says. "It wasn't perfect, but even if nobody else was proud of me, I was proud of myself, because I know what it took to overcome that situation."

As for whether a girl or the ONLY guy is going to win, Burnell tried to play it the P.C. route at first, but ultimately admitted this season’s winner will surely be a lady.

"I mean, it's pretty obvious a girl is going to win; we were just trying to hang in there!" Taylor said with a laugh. I'm proud of the girls; I feel like it's way overdue. And the fact that it's a possibility a girl will win, I'm just happy for all of them. I love them."

Of course, he loves one of them a little more and a little differently than the others, and that’s Amber Holcomb. In fact, he says the two “definitely like each other” and “only time will tell” what will happen with the relationship. This doesn’t exactly jibe with our exclusive interview with her a while back in which she named a significant other back home. Time and circumstances can change things, however, and we hope this love is blooming!

Will you miss Burnell now that he’s gone from Idol?
