Did Phillip Phillips Write a Song With Girlfriend Hannah Blackwell?
November 19 is only a few weeks away, and that means we’re that much closer to the release of Phillip Phillips’s debut, The World From the Side of the Moon.
The 22-year-old singer spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about his first album, songwriting, and how American Idol changed everything.
“It’s a great experience, but it’s tough,” Phillip said about the show. “You’re working 12- to 13-hour days, recording, waiting, a lot of hurry-up-and-wait. But it really helps you with the media and perfecting your performances.”
While he wrote most of the songs on the album, P2 had help from a few different collaborators, including girlfriend Hannah Blackwell!
“She helped me with a song called ‘Take Me Away,’” Phillip said. The track can be found as a bonus on the Target version of the album and includes the heartfelt lyrics “You’re all I wanna see/ All I wanna touch and feel in every way” from a poem that Hannah wrote about Phillip.
Aw, we’re getting all melty inside just thinking about P2 and his lady collaborating on music together!
