As American Idols Live! tour winds down, 19 Entertainment is giving fans a behind-the-scenes peek at the touring lives of the American Idol Season 11 contestants.

A new YouTube channel called Channel 19 has launched its first installment of an Idol-themed web series called “The Road Show,” which features a  group chat with nine of the Top 10 finalists (Jessica Sanchez was doing a photoshoot the day Episode 1 was recorded).

During the introductory chat, host Christina Grimmie spoke with the Idols about their experiences being on tour as a group while hitting up 47 cities in 31 states over the course of just 77 days.

The gang unanimously agreed that Elise Testone stepped up as the mother figure during the tour. She admitted, “I definitely have this motherly instinct and definitely just look out for everyone and make sure everyone’s you know, okay, and I love everyone very much.”

As for how they keep everything fresh night after night, Erika Van Pelt said, “We just have to remind ourselves that it’s a new show every time we do it, and even though we’re doing the same tunes, we never do it exactly the same way.” But jokester Heejun Han piped in to quip, “We have a mindset where everyone is coming to see Phillip and Colton anyways, so it’s just like …. Let it be.”

As for all the travelling they’ve been doing, season winner Phillip Phillips remarked, “It’s just unreal. We wake up in a new city almost every day, and that’s one of the best parts, you know also playing for fans that come out. But I never thought I’d be travelling around, going to different cities playing … It’s pretty amazing.”

It sounds like a fun albeit exhausting experience!
