Farewell Devin Velez! Watch His American Idol 2013 Performances Here

Chicagoan Devin Velez impressed us when he showed up during the American Idol 2013 group auditions and sang Maroon 5’s “Payphone.” He and two of his teammates wound up moving on to the next round of the competition. His dual Spanish/English songs have made huge headway for him in the compeition.

But how far will Devin get in competition during Season 12? He successfully secured a spot in the Top 10, impressing the judges with his vocal abilities and confident stage presence. But his perceived inability to connect with songs emotionally and his safe song choices bothered the judging panel, and Devin Velez was ultimately cut during the Top 7 results show on March 18, 2013.
