How Much Is Jennifer Lopez Worth?
Jennifer Lopez is a hardworking mom — judging American Idol, producing two of her own shows, performing around the world, designing a fashion line for Kohl’s, and starring in major motion pictures. This busy schedule is steadily racking up the dough; her companies alone are valued at more than $225 million. And it’s not just her portfolio that she’s managing well, but also her brand; Business Week credits the 20 percent jump in Kohl’s’ third quarter profits to high sales from Jennifer Lopez’s clothing line.
As of 2009, according to Hollywood Life, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony were estimated to be worth a combined $350 million. J.Lo was far and above the breadwinner during her marriage to Marc (which ended amicably earlier this year); bringing home double the bacon her hubby did, according to People.
In the last year alone, Jennifer made $12 million for judging Season 10 of American Idol, and got a huge raise to $20 million for Season 11, debuting in January 22, 2012. Then there was the $1.2 million the former Fly Girl made in one day for performing at Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko’s birthday party, and the mysterious amount of cash she made when she inked her record deal with Def Jam back in April 2010.
Movies have typically been Jennifer’s bread-and-butter, even since bursting onto the scene in the title role in the Selena biopic. J.Lo used to command up to $15 million per picture, but Forbes reports that her rate has plummeted in recent years. However, back in 2001, Jennifer’s $9 million payday for The Wedding Planner was the highest ever salary paid to a Latina actress, according to People. With three movies coming out in 2012, we’re betting Jennifer’s going rate will rise rapidly in the next year.
