How Well Did Phillip Phillips’s Debut Album Do?
We’ve waited for Phillip Phillips’s debut album with bated breath. Apparently, the American Idol winner has made quite an impression on a number of other music lovers too.
The World From the Side of the Moon, which dropped on November 19, landed at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 album chart, selling 169,000 copies.
For comparison, Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery grabbed the No. 1 spot in 2011 and sold 197,000 copies of his first album, while Season 9 champ Lee DeWyze’s first post-Idol effort sold 39,000 and debuted at No. 19.
With the runaway success of “Home” and a strong follow-up single picked out, P2 is just getting started!
