Jennifer Lopez could be returning to the American Idol judges' table for 2014? We can’t confirm or deny, but neither can she! When asked about it by Extra, the former judge gave a very politically correct answer, saying, “I don’t know... it’s too far off to say right now.” J-Lo could run for office with an evasive answer like that!
And the folks at American Idol allegedly approached her for a mid-season Mariah Carey replacement but had to retract the offer when Mimi supposedly threatened litigation. Of course, the folks at FOX are calling all this untrue but we’re not so sure.
It seems that, every time we return from commercial, FOX is trying someone else out at the judges’ table. So far this season, Drake, former judge Paula Abdul, and Harry Connick, Jr., have all taken a seat there. It will be truly telling if the powers that be have Jennifer rest her ample derriere there after she performs on the American Idol 2013 finale. And we’d love to be a fly on the wall in Mariah’s dressing room if that were to happen!
According to Radar Online, Jennifer is reportedly in favor of a return to the show for American Idol 2014, the theory being she wants to settle down a bit and spend more time with her five-year-old twins, Max and Emme — that is, when they’re not in their uber ritzy school. In fact, the report even said that Jennifer had her manager, Benny Medina, approach FOX to tell them of her interest in joining the fold at Idol once again.
We don’t know about you, but we thought Jennifer was an amazing judge — easy on the eyes, thoughtful, and kind while still delivering straightforward critiques. If they could find someone who meshes with her better than the apathetic Steven Tyler, Idol could make the comeback it’s been wanting to achieve.
What do you think about Jennifer returning to American Idol?
