American Idol Season 12 judge Nicki Minaj will never be accused of being predictable. In fact, just as her hair color or her accent seem to change by the minute, so too does the way that she describes her sexual orientation. So is Nicki Minaj gay or bisexual? She is always calling the American Idol 2013 contestants "hot" and "sexy" and labels Kree Harrison as "my wife" after all. We decided to take a look at her previous statements to find out.

The 30-year-old chameleonic rapper appeared to give a definitive answer to Rolling Stone during an interview in December 2010 by explaining that she used to call herself bisexual to get attention. "I think girls are sexy," she tells the magazine. "But I'm not going to lie and say that I date girls."

She has also given an interview with Q magazine in which she was asked if she’s bisexual, and she replies, “That's definitely not true.” Nicki continued, “I guess some people are thrown off by me embracing gay culture.”

So those comments seem to set the record straight (so to speak). However, in summer of 2010, Nicki made flirty remarks about some fellow music artists, saying she would “Minaj-Up” Lauren London and Cassie if given the chance. Around that same time, she and Cassie were spotted holding hands, not that holding hands means anything about your orientation.

To complicate matters further, she explained in an interview with Complex last year that her song lyrics don’t necessarily reflect her real-life desires. She says at the time that she’s currently celibate, telling the magazine, “If [bisexual is] what they wanna call me, then fine.”

Hmmm. These aren’t really the conclusive findings we were hoping for. Nonetheless, we’re gonna go ahead and trust what she’s said multiple times about not being bisexual. Then again, part of Nicki’s appeal is not being able to assume anything about her.
