Looks like the reports about country star Jason Aldean and wife Jessica Ussery splitting up are true. The singer has officially filed for divorce in Tennessee citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for ending his 11 year marriage.

According to Us Weekly, Jason Aldean and Jessica Ussery separated back in January, but the break up was kept mostly under wraps until now. Rumors of a divorce in the works began surfacing when Jason showed up at the Academy of Country Music Awards without his wife.

This is a really tough time for my entire family," Aldean said in a press statement on Monday. "Jessica and I have been together since we were teenagers. We've been through a lot of ups and downs over the years as we grew up together as a couple.

"She will always be important to me because she is the mother of my children, and I know that we will both always make our daughters our number one priority," he added in the statement.

The Jason Aldean divorce comes on the heels of a serious cheating scandal that erupted last fall after he was photographed kissing former Season 11 American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr in a Hollywood bar.

Jason later apologized for the incident, saying he  drank too much and "screwed up" when he got handsy with Brittany. He and his wife seemed determined to fix their relationship at first, appearing on red carpets together and even talking about the scandal on television.

Brittany Kerr also apologized after the cheating scandal erupted in the press, but claimed she had no idea Jason was married when they made out.
