Rumors about the possible return of Jennifer Lopez to the American Idol judges’ table have been all the rage lately! But is she really planning to make an appearance on the show this season, or possibly come back as a member of the American Idol 2014 judges?

First we had a conspiracy theory erupt about FOX’s alleged secret plot to replace Mariah Carey with J-Lo mid-season. Then it came out that Jennifer would likely make an appearance on the American Idol finale for Season 12 — as a performer, not a judge. Now the latest chatter is all about whether or not Jennifer Lopez might be back as part of the 2014 American Idol judges’ panel.

A source reportedly told RadarOnline this week that Jennifer Lopez has asked FOX to put her back at the judges table for American Idol 2014. The theory is that J-Lo wants to settle in a bit and spend more time with five-year-old twins, Max and Emme. “J.LO had her manager Benny Medina approach FOX to alert them of her interest in rejoining Idol,” the source said.

When asked directly about whether or not she is indeed planning on returning to the show for American Idol 2014, Jennifer Lopez played it cool with Extra. “I don’t know... it’s too far off to say right now.”

As for those rumors about some kind of secret plan to replace Mariah Carey at some point during Season 12, J-Lo said she just doesn’t “have much to say about that right now.”
